Seine Laufbahn führte ihn durch die Beatclubs der 60er, die Berliner Folkclubs der 70er und ab den 80er Jahren auf die internationalen Konzertbühnen. 16 CDs und ebenso viele Musikbücher sind Ausdruck seiner Kreativität. Parallel gründete Ulli Boegershausen sein eigenes CD-Label und produzierte mehr als 100 CDs mit so bekannten Jazzmusikern wie der amerikanischen Harfenistin Deborah Henson-Conant und dem Miles Davis Schlagzeuger Al Foster.
